MR. REEVE'S MORNING MESSAGE - MONDAY MAY 4

May 4, 2020

Good morning Greenville Middle School!

Students today is the start of National Teacher Appreciation Week. Please take a minute to thank your teachers for all the great things they do each day for Greenville Middle School!

Congratulations to the following students whose Greenville Green was selected for our weekly PBIS reward.

Since we will be doing remote learning for the rest of the school year I will be emailing these students and other previous winners this month to get them their reward.

Please remember that you all are expected to participate in your learning each day. The learning opportunities the teachers are providing you do allow you to work at your own pace and absorb the content.

Remember that during distance learning we are not using numerical grades. Instead, you will receive one of three options: Evidence of Learning (COMPLETE), Working Towards (WORKING), and Not Yet Learned (INCOMPLETE).

Students, just a reminder 5-week interim period ends on Friday, May 15th.  It is important for you to make sure if you have some Working Towards (W) as a grade that you redo and resubmit the assignment. If you have any Incompletes (I) please complete and submit them.  If you have any questions about any assignment it is important that you attend your teacher's office hours or email them the question.

Have a great day!

Mr. Reeve

Morning Message:

APPRECIATING THOSE WHO TEACH

Almost everyone can point to a teacher who has made a difference in his or her life. Maybe you had a special teacher who gave you some extra time when you needed it or helped you discover a talent you didn’t know you had.

Voltaire, French author, and philosopher, once said:

Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.

Just think about it.  If we admire a teacher’s strong character, we can try to strengthen our own character.  If we appreciate a teacher’s kindness, we may want to try to become kinder.  When we appreciate an excellent quality in someone else, it can help us develop that quality in ourselves.

Take time to say “thank you” to a special teacher.  As Voltaire says, “appreciation is a wonderful thing” and can help you develop into a more excellent human being.

With something to think about, this is Mr. Reeve reminding you to Be Kind, Be Responsible, Be The Best You Can Be. The choice is yours. Have a great day!
