On Friday we honored the Girls Varsity Soccer Seniors. Here’s what their coach had to say:
These six young ladies have been playing with us for the past seven years, and we have a new young lady who joined us from Germany this year. This is a lovely bunch of kids. We’ve had a very nice season. They’ve led a very young team, and we can count on them to be there for us every single game.
Julia Slater
This young lady has been starting for us now for the last few years. She plays a hard-nosed game and she’s tough, but she does foul sometimes (cue laughter). Julia is also one of our team captains.
Olivia Ruso
This is a very confident young lady. She’s a fabulous team leader, always there encouraging the other girls. She’s done a wonderful job playing striker this year and being a backup goalie. Well done!
Melina Bergmann
This girl is only a junior this year but we thought we’d honor her because she is an exchange student from Germany. She’s been a lot of fun and has taught us a few new words in German. She fits in so well. She’s a joy to be around, and the kids absolutely love her. Thank you for coming to our school!
Jessica Lamanda
This young lady was left over. She’s been with us for four years and was on the crazy team way back when. She learned how to grow up and work with people well throughout her high school career. She’s a team captain and really just an absolute pleasure to have on our team for the last four years.
Madison Wisenburn
Lovely, lovely young lady. I’m so happy she decided to come back out this year. She took a year off the year before last. She’s such a unique young lady. I love how she expresses herself and her confidence. She’s just a wonderful person. [To Maddie’s family] you’re doing a great job.
Nuala Kappel
I’ve had a family of Kappel’s playing for me and they all play the same way - very physical, very hard-nosed, but do their job all the time. A captain, a great leader for our team. Our three captains this year have really done a fabulous job. The world is out there ready for her to conquer and she’s going to be one to go far with lots of positive things in her life.
Guinevere Brickman
Probably one of the quietest girls on our team, and there are not many quiet girls on our team. This young lady, I can’t say enough about her. She’s a very good artist, and she hides that sometimes. She plays hard for us and does everything the coach has ever asked.
Congratulations, ladies!
