Mr. Konas and his Wildlife Management students had a special project this winter working on researching, building, and installing wood duck boxes. They built four in all; three are in the pond by the track and one is in the pond by the transportation building. The boxes are designed specifically for Wood Ducks which normally nest in old growth trees, which are exceedingly difficult for them to find. These nesting boxes should produce 6-12 ducklings each season. Students involved in this project: Dustin VanAlstyne, Matthew Hagan, Alyson McCarta, Dylan Muntz, Preston Dudley, and Dustin VanAlstyne. What a great project!
